SIRE 2.0 benchmarking statistics - Q1&Q2 2026

INTERTANKO is committed to driving continuous improvement across the tanker industry by providing Members with exclusive access to a range of benchmarking and performance monitoring tools. The Association regularly shares statistical data derived from these tools, enabling Members to benchmark individual vessels and fleets while also providing insight into overall industry performance and emerging trends.

These statistics support Members in comparing their performance against the wider INTERTANKO Membership, helping to promote continuous improvements in safety, quality and environmental performance. This report provides an overview of the SIRE 2.0 benchmarking data collected during the first half of 2026, covering the period from 1 January to 30 June 2026.

Compared with the same period in 2025, all tanker sectors demonstrated improved performance, recording fewer negative observations and a higher number of positive observations. These results reflect a positive trend in SIRE 2.0 inspection outcomes during the first six months of 2026 and indicate an overall improvement in vessel performance across the participating fleet.

The findings highlight the ongoing commitment of INTERTANKO Members to operational excellence and continuous improvement, supporting safer, more efficient and environmentally responsible tanker operations.
